Absolute success of the first 24H SimRacing.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has experienced something unprecedented this weekend, the first 24-hour virtual resistance competition of the Catalan circuit, the 24H SimRacing. In this first edition, the NorthWorldSim eSports team has had no rival, with the ODOX Motorsport and Vodafone Giants Racing Team teams accompanying them on the podium.

For the first time in the world of motorsport and SimRacing, two 24-hour competitions have been developed simultaneously in the same circuit, the 24 Hours of Barcelona of Automobilismo-Trofeo Fermí Vélez and the 24H SimRacing. The result has been a resounding success: a total of fifteen teams, with three players each, have been installed over the weekend in the Montjuïc Club area of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. An unbeatable atmosphere that all fans have been able to enjoy for free, while the cars rolled a few meters down the world track. Both in the real and virtual tests, the participants have been able to experience very similar sensations, replicating situations in both dimensions.

The North World Sim eSports team, formed by Adrià Pérez, Alejandro Sánchez and Marc Pérez, has imposed itself in an incontestable manner. The trio has jumped to the virtual asphalt demonstrating a difficult pace to reach. In fact, Marc Pérez already claimed the pole position in the qualifying practice on Friday and, since then, everything has gone perfectly. The Spanish team leaves with an unbeatable taste of mouth, since in the 24H of Le Mans was at the gates of the podium. Well done work has been recognized even by Hble. Mr. Jordi Puigneró, Conseller of Digital Policies and Public Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya, who has been in charge of delivering the trophy to the winning team.

The ODOX Motorsport (Daniel Camps, Cristian Meciano and Jesus Sicilia) and the Vodafone Giants Racing Team (Alberto García, Raúl Suárez and Pablo López) have alternated in the two podium positions that were free. The pulse has finally been for ODOX.

Remember that some of the groups, such as the Vodafone Giants Racing Team, belong to teams with a long tradition in the world of eSports, which recently have also wanted to incorporate the SimRacing dimension. In this same direction, highlight the Army Racing Team, which has crossed the finish line in fourth position, or Williams eSports, the virtual division of the F1 team. Also noteworthy is the participation of the team led by Dani Clos, KIYF DC eRacing, and that of F1 commentator Albert Fàbrega, who has dared to face the 24H SimRacing challenge enlisted in the RACE4CAT team.

More than 2,500 people have physically passed through the space in which the competition has taken place. In addition, all those who have not been able to attend the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to witness it, or who were in any of the stands, have been able to follow it by streaming, with a total of 6,600 unique users and almost 12,000 cumulative viewers.
