The Hot Wheels Superchargers competitions, included in the Urban World Series (UWS) calendar, have established a strong platform in recent years for developing junior talent in urban disciplines such as skate, BMX and scooter, combining in-person events with innovative online formats and exclusive content.

Since its launch in 2021, the Hot Wheels Superchargers programme celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2025, reaffirming its commitment to young athletes aged 6 to 16 in Spain and Portugal. More than 350 participants have taken part in over 30 competitions, earning 90 medals at different stops on the circuit, including at the iconic Extreme Barcelona event held at Parc del Fòrum.

One of the most innovative aspects of this initiative has been the inclusion of online rankings, which allow young talents from across Europe to compete by uploading 30-second video clips of their tricks to the official Urban World Series profile or via Instagram, using discipline-specific hashtags. The best riders from these digital challenges have the opportunity to qualify for the in-person finals at events such as Extreme Barcelona.

In 2021, the programme grew with an expanded schedule that included stops in Madrid (Madrid Urban Sports) and Extreme Barcelona, and in 2023 it expanded with another stop in Almería, Andalusia (Andalucía Urban), where young competitors contested junior finals in disciplines such as Skate, Scooter and BMX. These in-person competitions, organised by UWS with the support of Hot Wheels, continued to attract a broad audience and provided high-level sporting experiences for participants and spectators.

In 2024, the programme grew with a stop in Porto, Portugal (Porto Street Cup), Extreme Barcelona and a stage at VESO Valencia, where young competitors contested junior finals in disciplines such as Skate and BMX Street. These in-person competitions, organised by UWS with the support of Hot Wheels, continued to attract a broad audience and provided high-level sporting experiences for participants and spectators.

Beyond the competitions, Hot Wheels and Urban World Series have increased the visibility of these young talents through a series of videos and interviews called “Riding for a Dream”, in which champions and medallists from these competitions share their stories of perseverance and ambition, thereby boosting the profile of future stars of urban sports.

The combination of in-person and online events, together with storytelling content and the ongoing presence of leading ambassadors in the sector—including elite athletes and figures from skate, BMX and scooter—has established Hot Wheels Superchargers as a benchmark platform within the Urban World Series circuit. This approach has enabled not only the discovery of new talent, but also the fostering of an accessible, participatory urban sports ecosystem for young people across Europe.
