The first edition of the Lynk&Co Montjuic- Tibidabo has started running this November 1st, All Saints’ Day. More than 400 runners gathered at the Montjuic castle to enjoy a running party with privileged views of the city of Barcelona.

A first edition of the race that picks up the legacy of the race of friendship, with more than 40 years of history and created by the Barcelona athlete Francesc Mates. The race with more slope of Barcelona has become a challenge for the 400 runners who have participated: 19’5Km and more than 550m of slope that unite the city through its two mountains: Montjuic and Tibidabo.

The Lynk&Co Montjuic Tibidabo has made its starting gun today at 8 am, Victor Casanovas, director of the race, makes a very positive assessment. “For the organization, it is a pride to be able to say that more than 400 people have joined the challenge, in a sustainable race format and 0 impact to preserve the Collserola Park one of the great lungs of Barcelona.

Great times in the first edition of the race.

Gerard De Antonio has taken the first edition of the race with a time of 1:08:34 minutes, a time that has surprised everyone who was waiting for the runners to the leisure corner of Santa Maria de Vallvidrera, “I am very happy to have won the first edition of the race, a tough race but with spectacular views.” De Antonio was happy and surprised by the weather. Josep Arnal and Miquel Solé from the Ironwill Solideo club completed the podium. As for the female podium Maria Fuentes has taken the winner’s trophy with a time of 1:20:31It has been a unique experience, I usually do trail and run on asphalt with so much unevenness has been a challenge, I had very good feelings throughout the race“. Martina Alemany and Silvia Segura, completed the podium.

A challenge for all runners who participated in the morning running, where the final provisioning all runners have been able to enjoy a snack at the end of the race to regain strength after achieving the challenge of running the race with more unevenness of Barcelona.

The sustainable aspect of the race was also evident before, during and after the race, preserving the Collserola Park, the lungs of the city of Barcelona, thus becoming the first sustainable race, donating 1€ from the registrations to preserve the park and adding cleaning activities before and after the race. Surrounding itself also with green energy sponsors such as Lynk&Co and Niu who have provided the vehicles to follow the race.
