On Wednesday 29 March, a meeting with journalists was held on the occasion of the presentation of Barcelona as the starting city of La Vuelta 2023. The event was organised by the Ajuntament de Barcelona with the support of Europcar, official supplier of La Vuelta.
The meeting with the journalists had two parts: a bike ride to recognise part of the route of one of the second stage of La Vuelta starting from Barcelona and a brief press conference to discuss the key points of La Vuelta 2023. The sports events agency SevenMila was in charge of managing, organising and planning the entire event, as well as creating the merchandising and organising the catering, among other tasks.
The leading cycling race on the international calendar will once again start in Barcelona 61 years later. Europcar and Ajuntament de Barcelona wanted to reflect this with an event that brought together cycling journalists for a bike ride with Oscar Pereiro, former cyclist and current ambassador of the mobility brand, who wanted to guide the attendees on a 30km route through Barcelona. Also attending the event were the director of La Vuelta, Fernando Escartín, and the sports councillor of Barcelona Ajuntament, David Escudé, who shared some of the most relevant details about the first and second stages of La Vuelta with Barcelona as the setting.
During the 9 stages of La Vuelta, SevenMila has also managed the activation of Europcar, which is the official supplier of the event, with functions such as the development of merchandising both B2B (some green Europcar bags, a notebook and a glass bottle with a Europcar cover) and B2C (some bottles for the bike).
SevenMila has also been in charge of the design of an adhoc tent for Europcar to be used in all the stages of the Vuelta, as well as its production.
